Tess Bourbeau, Intern
Tess (they/them) is an art therapy and counseling intern from Southwestern College. They believe that powerful healing can occur in a trusting relationship and strive to create a safe, exploratory space where clients can show up as their authentic selves. They work from a strengths-based perspective to invite more peace and wellness into the everyday lives of their clients, and to fortify their ability to face different challenges. Tess enjoys integrating art as a resource into the healing process, but also uses talk therapy, parts work, and relational-cultural therapy to create a treatment plan that best fits each client. Tess is aware of how systems of oppression impact mental health and maintains a trauma-informed lens throughout their practice. They aim to equip clients with tools to feel a greater sense of emotional stability.
