Michael Lusk, PhD
Michael (he/him/his) holds a Ph.D. in Counseling from Oregon State University. He has also earned a Guardianship Certificate from the University of Washington. Additionally, he holds a M.A. in Psychology from Argosy University and a B.A. in Gerontology from Langston University.
Michael has over 10 years’ experience working with adolescents, adults, older adults, and caregivers, and has long been an advocate for the importance of family support. In addition, he has experience working with the LGBTQ+ community. Michael cares a lot about gay youth—he wants to do everything he can to help them go on to happy and successful lives.
His areas of experience include LGBTQ+ affirming therapy, older adult major life transitions (including retirement, health changes, loss of independence, death of a loved one), caregiver support for those who care for individuals who are medically/mentally compromised, (such as loss of identity, role changes in relationships, and caregiver stress and burnout), grief/loss and bereavement (including anticipatory, and disenfranchised and complicated grief), stress, anxiety, and depression.
